Ngā Moko a Rāhiri

Pou Herenga Tangata Awardee 2022

Ngā Moko a Rahiri is a Kaikoke-based performing arts rōpū created to support Ngāpuhi Tamariki by hosting wānanga and enabling opportunities to perform and travel.

The rōpū utilised the Pou Herenga Tangata funding to support Ngāpuhi tamariki in learning performing arts. It enabled opportunities to perform, travel, demonstrate leadership, and showcase their talent within the community.

Some events included:

  • Marae Wānanga at Whitiora Marae, Te Tīi. Learning waiata, haka, karanga, whaikōrero and history of Ngāti Rēhia
  • Show Spectacular at Ngawha Community Hall to support the Ngāwha Community
  • Matariki Ball Saturday at Kaikohe Memorial Hall– performing for Whakaoranga Whānau Recovery Hub – an important service in Kaikohe to support whānau addictions.
